Sports Injury & Physiotherapy Clinic

Scott Kerr is a Physiotherapist based in Stirling with expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports injury rehabilitation, and exercise-based recovery. After graduating from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, Scott joined MacFarlane Physiotherapy, bringing extensive experience from professional football, elite sport, and private practice settings.

Scott works with people of all ages and activity levels, helping patients recover from sports injuries, back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, muscle strains, joint injuries, and post-operative conditions. His goal is to help patients reduce pain, restore movement, and return confidently to work, sport, and everyday life.

Career
Before qualifying as a Physiotherapist, Scott built an impressive career as a Sports Therapist, working within professional football and elite sporting environments. He has worked with Greenock Morton FC, Motherwell FC Academy, and the Scotland School's National Football Team, providing injury assessment, rehabilitation, sports massage, athletic taping, pitch-side emergency care, and return-to-play support.

Alongside his sporting roles, Scott developed extensive private practice experience at Clarkston Chiropractic and The Lomond Clinic, working as part of multidisciplinary healthcare teams alongside physiotherapists, GPs, nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Scott also successfully operated his own sports therapy business, providing physiotherapy-led rehabilitation, injury management, and exercise prescription for a diverse range of clients. His clinical training included placements across musculoskeletal physiotherapy, orthopaedics, neurology, respiratory care, paediatrics, community rehabilitation, and palliative care, giving him broad experience in treating both acute and long-term conditions.

Approach

Scott believes successful physiotherapy starts with understanding the individual behind the injury. He takes a patient-centred approach, combining detailed assessment, hands-on treatment, education, and tailored rehabilitation programmes to help patients achieve meaningful and lasting results.

Whether treating sports injuries, post-operative conditions, joint pain, muscle strains, or mobility problems, Scott focuses on identifying the root cause of symptoms and creating realistic treatment plans that support long-term recovery.

As both a clinician and lifelong athlete, Scott understands the physical and psychological challenges associated with injury. His goal is to help patients regain confidence, return to activity safely, and perform at their best.

Working within MacFarlane Physiotherapy's Stirling clinic, Scott regularly supports patients from Stirling, Bridge of Allan, Dunblane, Bannockburn, and the wider Forth Valley area. He enjoys helping everyone from recreational runners and gym-goers to competitive athletes and individuals recovering from injury or surgery.
