You Don’t Have to Live With These Symptoms

Expert physiotherapy to help you feel stronger, more comfortable, and confident in your body

What Is Women’s Health Physiotherapy?

Women’s Health Physiotherapy focuses on conditions affecting the pelvic floor, bladder, bowel, pelvic organs and core muscles — many of which are common but often untreated due to embarrassment, lack of awareness or misconceptions. Specialist physiotherapy can help reduce symptoms, restore function and improve quality of life without reliance on medication or surgery in many cases.

Conditions We Treat

We provide tailored care for a wide range of women’s health concerns, including:

Pelvic Floor & Bladder Function

  • Urinary incontinence (leakage when coughing, laughing or exercising)
  • Overactive bladder and urgency
  • Pelvic floor weakness or overactivity
  • Bladder training and muscle re-education

Pelvic Organ Support

  • Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) symptoms and management

Postpartum Care

  • Postnatal recovery including perineal and C-section support
  • Abdominal separation (diastasis recti) assessment and rehab
  • Return to exercise and activity guidance

Musculoskeletal & Pain Conditions

  • Pelvic, hip, low back and sacro-iliac joint pain
  • Dyspareunia (painful intercourse)
  • Chronic pelvic pain
  • Postural and functional movement advice

Bowel and Lower GI Support

  • Bowel incontinence and constipation-related pelvic floor concerns

Every treatment plan is individualised, clear and practical, and may include exercises, manual therapy, lifestyle guidance and education to empower you with long-term strategies.

Specialist Assessments We Offer

Mummy MOT® - Postnatal Health Check

Our Mummy MOT® is a specialist assessment recommended after childbirth - whether 6 weeks or many years later. It assesses posture, pelvic floor and abdominal muscle strength, and provides practical advice to support recovery and prevent ongoing symptoms.

Detailed Pelvic Floor Assessment

We take a sensitive, respectful approach to pelvic assessment. Internal examination is only offered if clinically appropriate and with your consent, and all discussions are private and supportive. From this we develop a programme designed around your goals and needs.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

At your first consultation, you can expect:

  • A relaxed, confidential discussion about your symptoms and history
  • A physical assessment tailored to your concerns
  • Clear explanation of what’s contributing to your symptoms
  • A personalised treatment plan with exercises and lifestyle advice
  • Support for return to daily activities, exercise or sport

Our goal is to help you feel informed, confident and empowered - not just symptom-free.

Many conditions treated in this department are not “just something you have to live with.” Specialist physiotherapy can improve symptoms, promote healing and prevent issues from worsening.
