Whether your symptoms are new or have been ongoing for months, we’ll help you return to the activities you enjoy – pain-free.
What is Tennis Elbow?
Tennis elbow, medically known as lateral epicondylitis, is a common overuse injury affecting the tendons on the outside of the elbow. It’s not limited to tennis players, it frequently affects anyone performing repetitive arm or wrist movements, such as manual workers, gym users, or office workers using a mouse.
Common Symptoms:
- Pain or burning on the outer part of the elbow
- Weak grip strength, especially when shaking hands or lifting objects
- Discomfort that worsens with activity, particularly wrist extension
- Stiffness or aching that may extend into the forearm
Symptoms usually develop gradually and can range from mild to severe
What causes Tennis Elbow?
Tennis elbow is caused by repetitive strain to the extensor tendons of the forearm, particularly the extensor carpi radialis brevis (ECRB).
Common causes include:
- Repetitive wrist and arm movements
- Poor technique in racquet sports
- Prolonged use of a computer mouse or typing
- DIY or gardening tasks
- Even small daily actions can contribute to the condition if performed repeatedly without proper recovery.
