Akruthi is an accomplished physiotherapist with diverse clinical, academic, and leadership experience spanning India and the UK. She is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care, with a particular passion for musculoskeletal and women’s health physiotherapy.
Career
Between 2015 and 2019, Akruthi served as the Manager of a medical simulation centre—then Asia’s largest—where she trained doctors and allied health professionals in essential clinical skills. Simultaneously, she worked as an Assistant Professor at GSL Medical College from 2018 to 2019, contributing to physiotherapy education and research.
From 2021 to 2024, Akruthi worked in England as a Senior and First Contact Physiotherapist in musculoskeletal (MSK) and women’s health primary care settings, gaining extensive
experience in managing complex cases, service development, and patient education. She has also worked closely with the geriatric population in care homes, enhancing her skills in
falls prevention, frailty management, and holistic elderly care. In 2024, Akruthi relocated to Glasgow and currently works as a Senior Physiotherapist in MSK practice around Kilmarnock, continuing her commitment to high-quality, patient-focused care.
She has further broadened her skills through recent training in Acupuncture (Foundation Course), Kinesio Taping, Radial Shockwave Therapy, and advanced Pelvic Floor
Assessment, and she regularly attends workshops and conferences to stay updated on the latest developments in MSK physiotherapy.
Interests
Akruthi’s interests extend beyond clinical practice. She is a Guinness World Record holder in the classical dance form Kuchipudi, having won numerous accolades since childhood. This deep connection with dance has given her exceptional insight into body mechanics and movement patterns, enriching her physiotherapy practice.
She has a strong interest in sports injuries, driven by her own active lifestyle. Akruthi is a golfer, motorbike rider, mountain biker, and cricketer. She actively plays for the West of Scotland Cricket Club and has participated in multiple 10K runs in the past. Her firsthand experience in sports fuels her commitment to helping athletes of all levels recover and perform at their best.
